As always a busy fun filled week. We've been busy trying to make some Easter goodies. We are looking forward to seeing lots of you at church on Friday for the Easter Assembly.
After the holidays I have planned an outdoor open day for Wednesday 26thApril from 2pm onwards. All reception parents and grandparents will be very welcome to come along and have a look at what we have been doing outside. More info will follow....hope everyone has a lovely Easter x

As always we have been busy. We have been thinking about animals in the ocean. Then we had our first step on the sensory footpath. We have enjoyed our time in the Spring sunshine and we have had doors put on our outdoor classes. Very, very exciting. Ooh acrylic arrived for the mosaic bench so that it will be fit for purpose and safe to sit on.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend and a lovely Mothers Day. Next week is a fun filled week with lots of lovely Easter themed things planned. The children have helped plan the week and want to learn and play outside all week!
We will be reading the story of Easter in RE, and then making palm crosses. We are having an Easter themed maths week and still thinking about our learn its, addition, subtraction and big maths.
we will be on our school trip to bring yer wellies on Tuesday and finding out about animal life cycles, using our senses, having a boat race with small cork boats,in the stream, den making and generally having good old fashioned fun! we have an Easter bunny egg hunt planned.
We need to make a bird hide that we have all designed
We want to bake and make cards and Easter baskets.
We are at church on Friday afternoon for the Easter assembly.
Wow what a fun filled week. Have a super weekend and come back ready to have fun next week. 😃

Today we read the story of the gingerbread man and talked about keeping safe after Mr Pearsons assembly on Thursday about stranger danger. We once again loved being outside the water area is a real hit with everyone in the Meerkats.

The weather has been fab this week and so down in reception the Meerkats have been exploring outdoors. They really enjoy the water area so we are trying to make it even more fun. The mosaic bench is coming along, it's very time consuming but it will be worth it. Also we've been whittling more wood for our messy maths area to make simple 2d shapes....

We had fun dressing up. As part of RE we are finding out about Noah's Ark. We read the story, made story stones, painted pictures and learnt lots and lots.

We are learning so much about how to improve our environment. The sensory path has come to a standstill...we are waiting for the edging to be put in properly and storm Doris caused a flood.... but today a willow arch structure arrived so we all helped to put it in. Take a look😊

This week we have made a start at our outdoor environment. We have a lot to do in a short time....the children really enjoyed planning a den making area, collecting wood and then wood whittling like Cowboys.

Today we have read the story of the first Christmas and we found out about baby Jesus being born. We then had a go at sequencing the story, writing sentences, we played with the manger and made nativity scene jigsaws.We had fun in the grotto too....

In RE we were thinking about kindness and we had a pair of magic glasses that helped us to say nice things about our friends. The rhyme went,"magic glasses what do you see, tell me something nice about me." When the glasses landed on someone we had to say nice things about them.
