Defibrillator

In recent years, our local news has reported far too many fatalities involving young children, incidents that could have been avoided.

It is from this reality that we eagerly accepted the generous offer made by Mr and Mrs Maxfield, members of the Longton Community, who visited our school and pledged to donate enough funds for us to purchase a defibrillator.

The funds they have generously donated have now been used to acquire the defibrillator and to provide training for 16 members of staff in its use should the need arise. Defibrillators are safe, easy to use, and cannot cause harm to anyone.

While I hope we never have to utilise the defibrillator, it is reassuring to know that it is available, providing us with equipment that could save a child’s life, whether that be your child, yourself, or a member of your family while on school premises.

The device will be stored in a secure yet accessible cabinet and will be regularly maintained.

Wishing you all good health,

Julie Brown
