Police dog handlers come into school
Lesson: PSHE and citizenship
This week, The health ambassadors had arranged for local Police dog handlers to come into our assembly to talk about the training of the dogs and the importance of dogs within the Police force.
It was very exciting as we saw their new trainee dog called Jazz( who William Booth had named as part of a competition) and learned how, after training it would be 'on patrol'.
Afterwards, we went outisde and watches as they demonstrated how the dogs are used to apprehend criminals. It was very exciting but amazing how the dogs followed their handlers command precisely and how safe the excercise was. We kew however that with a real criminal, it could seem quite scary.
We would like to thank the team for their time and an superb display of skills.
