Science week
Lesson: Science
Class: Year 6: The Giraffes Year: 2017 - 2018
We've got Science week off to a great start. We've been following the adventures of Dr Hawkegg and Professor Eggbert whilst they try and save their dinosaur project from catastrophe and sabotage from Evil Dr Shelly! First of all, we have put an experiment in motion to see if a comment by Shelly has any plausibility- we are finding out if it is possible to remove the shell of a raw egg without cracking the egg. We have a theory that an acid could dissolve the shell, so we've left some eggs in solutions to see what will happen!
After setting that up, we had a go at designing our own lab coats for a competition to win some for school.
Finally, we tried to save our precious dino eggs from the falling plane by creating designs using our science knowledge; some people took inspiration from Sycamore seeds (Spinning Jennies), some were inspired by dumbos ears and others decided the more surface area, the better. Most survived but not all were unscathed!
Tomorrow's challenge is saving the 3 egg characters from the quickly descending planes by using the available resources on the plane!
