Stone Age Cave Painting, by Mrs Catterall

This afternoon we wrapped up warm and braved the cold to create a cave painting. The children searched for twigs and other natural materials to make their own paintbrushes before collecting mud and making their paint. 

They then had a go at drawing an animal with the mud.  We had great fun.

This Week In year 4 it is the 10th anerversary of the Blog! We learnt how to play different types of drums. As well as drums we also learnt how to play Go-Gos,Shakers, Tamberins and Snare. We also learnt about how teeth work and we loved doing our fun experiments with Lego Blocks,plastic forks,scissors,tweeters and a small cup of water. It was very messy but fun!Today we also did sketching and used different types of sketches to make familiar shapes.

DT Project: Vehicles, by Mr Coxhead

Over the next 6 weeks or so, Year 6 will be doing DT on a Wednesday afternoon. Our project will be all about creating vehicles. To begin, each child will develop their woodwork skills (using a variety of tools) and create a model aeroplane. They will then learn how motors can be used to things move before designing and making their own motorised toy vehicle. 

To start off this week, Year 6 each began making an aeroplane for Superman (who has forgotten how to fly). I expect they will finish these next week!

The First day in year 4 after the holidays has been a sucsess! We had loads of fun writing our New Years Resaloutions                Down.  Also in art we drew our hands and wrote our hopes around them. They are interesting and exiting!

The Tigers enjoyed their Christmas lunch it was delicious! They also looked amazing when we dressed up for our theatre visit, the theatre production was brilliant too.The Tigers enjoyed the part where he was tourned into a donkey and also at the beginning when he was being created

This Week In Year 4, we have another Birthday Girl! This timeit was Eryn. Unfortunately she didn't bring any cakes. Also we have Been measuring the lengths of diferent objects. We found out that the hall was 1m 16cm! My thumb was 2cm witch is CRAZY!

Shape poems, by Mrs Catterall

Today we have been very creative. We spent the morning creating shape poems and then this afternoon inventing, designing and creating our animal skeletons for a 'new Nintendo game called skeletolympics' . The children will be presenting their ideas to the 'fictious' design board from Nintendo later this week.
